A fairly undemanding walk, starting out from Wolsingham and making for Frosterley using the Weardale Way up on to moors to the South of the River Wear. The walk returns to Wolsingham mostly along the banks of the River Wear.
One climb at the beginning of the walk, but not too steep.
Use made of minor roads and farm tracks, with some footpaths along the River Wear which might be muddy in wet weather.

Start from Wolsingham centre, NZ0746237233.
The the minor road signposted Hamsterley, South, crossing the River Wear and heading uphill fairly steeply.
About one mile up the hill, you pass Rushy Lea Lane on your right. Just past here, a farm track swings right from the minor road at NZ0728335573 and heads West-South-West across moorland country. Follow the track until you come to the "Elephant Trees" at NZ0398134333. A short distance past here a fingerpost directs you, along the Weardale Way, down into White Kirkley and Frosterley.
Follow the track and road all the way into Frosterley, crossing the River Wear.
From here, follow footpaths along the River Wear back to Wolsingham.
