A Guide Stone, dated 1757, on Ingleby Moor. This stone directs travellers to "Ingleby and Stoxley", "Kirby and Helmsley" and "Gisbro" As with the Fat Betty Cross, money is left under the stone on top for needy wayfarers. This is a well known custom of the notoriously generous Yorkshire folk.
