Explorer Map OL30, - Yorkshire Dales (North)
A walk that takes in the once heavily industrialised villages
of Boosbeck, Lingdale, and North Skelton.
Nowadays, however, there is little sign of industry and the area is surprisingly
        agricultural.
This is a year-round walk, though after heavy rain there are some very
        muddy sections.
There are no real navigational problems, and no significant gradients.

Start from Birk Brow car park on the A171 Guisborough to
        Whitby road (NZ658 148).
Leave the car park along the footpath beside the beacon, heading North
North West. The footpath is broad and well used. Aim for the telephone
        masts if indoubt about direction.
Cross the minor road by the telephone masts, and head due Northalong the
Jenny Frisk Road (a muddy farm track).
When you reach Boosbeck village, cross the Lingdale Road and take the
footpath by the Church that heads due East.
When the footpath reaches the farm access road at NZ668 168, head South
to Lingdale village then head East along Lingdale's High Street.
When you reach Lingdale's War Memorial, cross over the road and head east
along the track to Little Moorsholm Farm. Continue East along the farm
        track to Buck Rush Farm.
The footpath past this farm continues Eastwards in a shallow valley, following
        the fenceline.
Continue along the path (well defined) to Stank House Farm. Continue North
past the farm until you meet the minor road, then follow the road to Kilton
and then North West along Kilton Lane.
Where the Cleveland Street fottpath crosses Kilton Lane, head West along
        the footpath to North Skelton.
Continue along the Cleveland Street footpath until it meets the Boosbeck
        Road.
Here, head South to Boosbeck village, to eventually meet up again with
the Jenny Frisk Road whereby you return to the Birk Brow car park.
