Although this walk makes use of Forestry tracks and the Hambleton Street drover's road which are firm surfaced, there is also a good deal of walking across farmland footpaths. When the walk was made by us in winter-time, these footpaths tended to be extremely muddy.
Apart from this, there are no navigational problems, and the ascent / descent is not too demanding.
In fine weather there are some superb views.

Start from the car park above Osmotherley on Thimbleby Moor at SE47995 95920.
Walk in a Southerly direction up the track that heads towards the Black Hambleton Hill.
At SE47930 95245 take the bridleway towards Nether Silton. This shortly joins the Forestry track heading in a South Westerly direction.
Shortly after the track enters Moor Lane, there is a waymarked footpath on your left at SE46600 93410.
Follow the waymarks and the footpath to Bridge Beck Lane.
When you reach Bridge Beck lane, turn left and walk along the lane for a short distance.
Where the waymarked footpath at SE46718 91752 is indicated, follow this into Kepwick.
From Kepwick, take the waymarked footpath at 46638 90770 to Gallow Hill.
When you reach the gate at SE48488 89957, turn left and follow the footpath in a North Easterly direction to reach the Hambleton Street Road.
Follow the Hambleton Street Road back to the starting point of the walk.
