Explorer Maps OL26 and OL27, - North Yorkshire Moors East and West

A circular walk starting from the village green in Sinnington.
The walk makes use of well-defined footpaths, farm tracks, and minor roads.
There are no navigational problems and the walk is essentially a delightful day out in the country.
On the day we made the walk, some of the footpaths were very muddt. However, this was the only difficulty presented with the walk.

The start of the walk is from the centre of Sinnington village (SE7442185736).
Head down the village street South until you meet a track on your left (on the opposite side of the road to a footbridge over the River Seven). A short distance along this track a footpath is waymarked, heading North.
Follow the footpath to All Saints' Church, Sinnington.
Continue Northwards along a broad waymarked footpath (Wiley Flat Lane) that takes you to Cropton after entering Bull Ing Lane.
In Cropton, head for St. Gregory's CHurch (SE756 829). The Church is at the North end of Cropton.
Just to the East of the Church is a footpath which heads North through National Trust woodland to Lady Keld Spring (SE856 799).
Retrace your steps to St. Gregory's Church, then take the lane South West to the minor road.
On the minor road, turn right and head North on the grass verge beside the road to Cropton Bridge.
Here turn left along the minor road to Seven Bridge and Lower Askew.
At Lower Askew there is a clearly marked footpath that heads South at SE743 897.
Take this footpath South through Scarth Wood to Appleton Mill Farm.
Here take the farm road North West to Hamley Lane, and then Appleton-le-Moors.
From Appleton-le-Moors head South along the clearly marked footpath to return to Sinnington.
