Explorer Map OL26 - North York Moors (West)

A circular walk taking in Kildale Moor, Little and Great
        Hograh Moors, and Baysdale.
The route takes one past Hob Hole, which is a popular beauty spot in fine
        weather.
The route follows well defined paths at all stages, with some walking
along minor roads. The paths across the moors are easy to follow, and
providing you have a map and know how to use it there are no navigational
        problems.
In fine weather there are some superb views.

Start from the car park by the railway station at Kildale
        (NZ60465 09537).
Take the road out of Kildale towards Commondale, and at Green Gate Lane
(NZ61215 09537) take the farm track towards Warren Farm, then the footpath
heading South South East over Kildale Moor.
At NZ63240 07802 this footpath meets another path heading East-West. Turn
        left, and head East.
When this footpath meets the minor road, turn right and head down hill
towards Hob Hole. Continue uphill along this road, and where it forks
take the right hand fork onto Little Hograh Moor. At NZ65505 06747 there
is a footpath that takes you West across Great Hograh Moor (the Skinner
        Howe Cross Road).
When you reach the footbridge over the Great Hograh Beck (NZ63590 06707),
initially continue North along the footpath, but then cut back South on
the shooter's track for a short distance. There is a footpath that leads
South West off the shooter's track, eventually taking you to the plantation
        above Baysdale Abbey.
        Descend down to Baysdale Abbey.
From Baysdale Abbey, follow the farm track / road up to the Cleveland
Way at NZ61045 06967, and return to Kildale along the Cleveland Way.
