This walk is a popular ascent of Ingleborough (2373 ft)
starting out from Clapham, and returning via Sulber Nick.
The walk is strenuous, and it is absolutely essential that the walker
is fully prepared with the correct clothing and has a map and compass,
        - and knows how to use them.
We have found that even though it may be pleasantly mild in Clapham, it
can be extremely cold and windy on the summit of Ingleborough with poor
        visibility making things worse.
If you are lucky with a clear day, then the views from the summit will
        be spectacular.

The start of the walk is from the National Park Visitor
        Centre car park (SD74592 69175).
Go to the top end of the village on the left side of Clapham beck, and
at sawmill House pay a small sum for admission to the track through the
woods that takes to Ingleborough Cave.
Continue past the Cave, through Trow Gill, until you reach a set of double
stiles at SD752 733. From the stiles, the route up to Little Ingleborough,
and onwards to Ingleborough, is very clear and easy to follow. At SD750
725 you may want to make a short diversion to view the hole of Gaping
        Gill.
The summit of Ingleborough is marked by a Trig Point at SD741 746.
From the summit, head North East to the cairn at SD743 746 which marks
the path down. There is a steep descent at this point, and at SD745 747
the footpath splits. Take the right hand track heading East South East
        to Sulber Nick.
At SD777 734 there is a signposted "crossroads", and at this
point you turn right to follow the footpath back to Clapham.
