Outdoor Leisure Map No OL26 - North York Moors, Western Area

A circular walk from the delightful village of Kilburn, taking in the village of Wass and the ruins of Byland Abbey.
Although extensive use is made of Forestry tracks and some minor roads, there is a good deal of walking along farm footpaths.
Our experience was that after rain, these farm footpaths were extremely muddy.
We also found that some of the Forestry tracks had become not only muddy, but very slippery. One section, in particular, involved a steep descent over leaf covered ground which became highly treacherous in wet conditions.
Otherwise, this is a very pleasant countryside ramble.
