Outdoor Leisure Map No 26, - North York Moors (Western Area)
A walk from a very isolated and remoted part of the North
York Moors, - at the head of Bransdale.
No particular difficulties, though some of the paths were very wet and
slippery at the time the walk was made. There is some moorland walking,
but this does not present any particular problem providing a map and
          a compass are used.

Start from St. Nicholas Church, Cockayne (SE6199898319).
Space for car parking is VERY limited, and it may be best to park in
the road that is in the valley below the Church.
Walk along the road to Cow Sike Farm, and take the signposted footpath
          down to Bransdale Mill (SE6205697909).
From the Mill, turn left and follow the field footpaths to Spout House
Farm. At the road junction, take the right hand turn (towards Hutton
le Hole) and follow the road uphill for about half a mile. At the second
footpath finger post (SE6297396549) take the moorland footpath almost
          due East.
Where this path meets a shooter's track (SE6347896692) head due North
until you meet the next shooter's track at SE6342097577. Here turn East
until you come to Rudland Rigg at SE6405597460.
Follow Rudland Rigg in a North Westerly direction all the way to Bloworth
          Crossing (NZ6159001493).
Here, retrace steps back along the Rigg to where there is a faint shooter's
track by the Cockan Cross (SE6312899163). Follow this track to the more
obvious footpath that then leads down to Cow Sike Farm. Here retrace
          steps to Cockayne Church.
