Walk round the town's fortified walls, using the Tourist Information leaflet and maps.

The walk upstream alongside the River Tweed comes from the AA book. The walk takes one along the South Bank to where the A1 road bridge crosses the Tweed, and then returns by the path along the North Bank.
Somewhat muddy, but easy to follow.
