A walk starting in West Burton village, and heading South through the Walden Beck Dale.
Quite a bit of use is made of minor roads for the walk. The valley is very quiet, and there is little traffic on these roads.
Otherwise, the walk takes in farmland which can be wet and muddy when rainy. There is one moderately stiff climb up a field system up from the valley bottom.

Start from West Burton village centre, SE0179686715.
Take the minor road South out of the village that is signposted Walden Head.
Continue along this road, past Cote Bridge, to the point where the road bends sharp left at SE0168483893. There is a footpath signposted Whiterow Farm at this point. Follow the footpath through the farm, and continue along the path to Bridge End Farm. There is a bridge over the Walden Beck at this point (SE0073182234).
Do NOT cross the beck, but now take the path up the hill (fairly steep) to Ashes Farm.
From Ashes Farm, follow the footpath back down to the road at SD9985181511.
Continue along the road to Walden Head Farm.
From here, retrace your steps and follow the road to SE005833, just above Walden, where the footpath takes you down to Cowstone Gill House.
Follow the footpath from here all the way back to Cote Bridge, from where the road is followed back to West Burton.
