Start from the large public car park in the centre of Helmsley (SE6108083861).
Head out of the town by the road South to Thirsk, but just before the bridge over the River Rye turn left to follow the waymarked Ebor Way.
Follow the Ebor Way along the River Rye until a railway bridge under the disused rail track is reached. Take the path that goes under the bridge and leads you to the Helmsley-Harome road. Follow the road into Harome (SE6468082167).
Leave Harome by Hall Lane and continue in a Southerly direction to Lack Lane. Where Lack Lane meets the minor road, turn right. When the minor road meets the B1257, turn right (CARE needed on the road, - no footpath). Follow the road into Oswaldkirk.
St. Oswalk's Church in Oswaldkirk is at SE6207678919.
Return to the B1257 and cross over to take the Ebor Way footpath all the way back to Helmsley.
