A walk starting in Castleton, and
then heading down Danby Dale to East Cliff Farm. From here, ascend to
cross the moors and walk down into Little Fryup Dale, returning across
the moors to Ainthorpe and Castleton.
Can be very wet and muddy in parts, and navigation on the moors requires
a map and compass.

Start from Castleton village centre,
NZ6871108076.
Head South down Ashfield Road, which soon becomes a narrow farm track,
- Wandell's Lane.
This track leads you to St. Hilda's Church.
From the Church, continue using the footpath and road to East Cliff
Farm. Follow the way marks to ascend the path on to the moorland and
the "Jack Sledge Road" (you have to use your map and compass
to find this track initially).
Cross the moorland and descend into Little Fryup Dale to the road junction
by Slate Hill House (NZ7106605473).
Here, take the Bridle Path N-NW across the moorland to Ainthorpe, and
then follow the road to Castleton.
