Outdoor Leisure Map No 26 - North York Moors Western Area

This walk is basically the one shown as Walk No 15 in the book "The Cleveland Hills" by Tom Scott Burns.
There is some moorland walking across Whorlton Moor (a compass needed if the visibility is bad).
Otherwise, the walk uses farm roads and tracks, and returns via the well-paved Cleveland Way.
No particular difficulties.

The starts from the Lord Stones Cafe Car Park on top of Carlton Bank (NZ52450299).
Initially follow the road and Cleveland Way West.
Where there is a clear fork in the route, take the South path. Follow this for a mile or so to Brian's Pond. Descend into Scugdale at Barker's Crags and follow the well defined path to Scugdale Hall.
Turn left on the road at Scugdale Hall to High House.
Pass through the "yard" of this house, and turn right at the end of the yard at the footpath sign.
Follow the footpath across fields and beside the Scugdale Beck.
Cross the Beck at a footbridge, for Holiday House Farm.
From Holiday Farm follow the track and road to Fog Close Farm.
Take the path to Snotterdale Plantation and return to Carlton Bank via the Cleveland Way.
