Circular walk, starting from Richmond
Town Centre.
The walk takes in a mix of roads, woodland paths, country lanes, and
paths across fields.
There is a constant variety of scenery. Although the walk takes you
to Willance's Leap, which is 400-500 ft above the valley floor, there
are no undue gradients to master.
An enjoyable walk for any time of the year, though on a clear
day the views of Swaledale and the river would double its value.

Start Point : Long term car park in Richmond,

Walk through Richmond Town centre down to the falls, NZ17350063
Then walk West to Richmond Bridge, and cross over the bridge.
Take the footpath immediately on the right over the bridge through the
woods and along the river to the footbridge beyond Round Howe (NZ15710080)
Cross the River Swale again, and after crossing the main road follow
the footpath to Lower Applegarth Farm.
From Lower Applegarth, follow the footpath and then track to Claygate
Bank (NZ11450198)
Turn right onto the road, and follow the road until you come to Deepdale
(NZ12950245).
Follow the footpath past Willance's Leap to Whitcliff Farm, and then
on to Richmond.
