10.4 miles.
Outdoor Leisure Map No 30 - Yorkshire Dales Northern & Central Areas

Circular walk, starting from West Witton village. Car parking is not recommended on the main road through West Witton itself; some care may be needed to find a suitable parking place.
The walk takes in a mixture of green lanes, drovers' roads, footpaths, and minor roads.
For the ascent of Penhill, use of the Ordnance survey map and compass is highly recommended. The ascent isn't recommended in poor weather.
Descending back into West Witton takes in Witton Steeps. For this section, the walker is recommended to use the road, rather than the footpath, - which can be very wet and uneven.
A reasonably strenuous walk, though rewarded by some superb views.
