Outdoor Leisure Map No 26, - North York Moors, Western Area
A pleasant circular walk that takes
in a mixture of upland farm tracks, plantation tracks, and a limited
amount of moorland. A compass and a bit of map reading certainly helps
with the navigation on parts of the walk.

The walk starts close to Laskill Bridge at SE5627290909.
Cross the B1257 (CARE!) to take the footpath East into the woodland opposite
        Laskill Farm.
Follow the footpath East (map and compass needed) to Tod Hill, and follow
the rather indistinct path under the fence-line by the plantation to SE5865890810
        where forestry tracks meet.
Continue East along the Forestry track to Old Fold cottage (SE6049390572).
As you leave the plantation, turn left on the minor road to Lund Ridge.
Stop off at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene just by the public phone
        box.
Continue along the road, turning off at the footpath on the left opposite
        the small utilities building.
Follow the track to Old Kiln Farm, and continue to Piethorn Farm.
At Piethorn Farm head South along the footpath to Bogmire Gill, crossing
the Gill at a suitable point (no bridge). Continue heading South-South-West
up Collins Ridge (you have to cross a wire fence to find the track).
The path up Collins Ridge meets a broad track which takes you West.
At the junction of tracks, SE5859291588, follow the broad track West (rather
than try and find the footpath across the moorland) towards New House.
From just before New House (a ruin) take the path to Carr Cote Farm (also
        a ruin).
At Carr Cote Farm, follow the footpath West towards Laskill Bridge.
